121(G)(2) governs parking and storing trailers in residential zoning districts. Recreational vehicle trailers are permitted to be parked or stored in residential districts outright. Hauling trailers, however, may not exceed nine feet in overall height or twenty-five feet in body length excluding the hitch; oversized hauling trailers may be stored temporarily for loading, unloading or cleaning for up to 24 hours once a month only after the owner contacts the village for permission. Commercial trailers are also allowed in residential districts, but any contractor equipment or materials stored inside must be completely concealed from view, without a tarp as a substitute for an enclosed trailer.

A hauling trailer over 9 feet tall or 25 feet long that isn't covered by the once-a-month, 24-hour loading exception is a zoning violation under Section 154.121(G)(2)(b) and (f), enforced by the Community Development Department. Parking any RV, boat, camper or trailer on a village street between 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. without a posted exemption or police-approved special exception violates Section 72.02 and can draw a citation from the Schaumburg Police Department.
