Antioch, CA Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Republic Services, under its Antioch franchise, offers on-call bulky waste collection for residential customers at no additional charge for a set number of pickups per calendar year (commonly two, with up to six items per pickup — confirm current terms with Republic Services). Accepted bulky items include: furniture (couches, chairs, tables, mattresses, box springs), large appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves — freon-containing units require tag/special handling), televisions and electronics (one or two per event under e-waste rules), carpet (rolled, tied, max 4 ft lengths), and household items too large for the cart. NOT accepted in bulky pickup: construction and demolition debris, concrete, dirt, tires, hazardous waste, paint, motor oil, batteries, needles, or items from commercial remodels. Residents must schedule pickup at least 48 hours in advance by calling Republic Services at (925) 685-4711 or via the online customer portal. Items must be placed at the curb adjacent to the normal cart location by 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled date and separated by category (metal/appliances, furniture, e-waste) for efficient loading. Illegal dumping of bulky items on streets, sidewalks, or vacant lots violates Antioch Municipal Code Chapter 6-5 and California Penal Code §374.3, carrying fines up to $1,000 for a first offense and $3,000 for repeat offenses.
