Doral provides single-stream curbside recycling pickup once weekly for single-family residences using city-issued blue rolling carts. Accepted materials include paper, cardboard, plastic containers, glass, and metal cans. Items must be clean, dry, and loose β no plastic bags in recycling.
The City of Doral provides single-stream recycling collection once per week for single-family residences through the contracted franchise hauler. Residents are issued blue rolling carts for recyclables. Accepted materials include paper and newspapers, cardboard (broken down flat), plastic bottles and containers numbered 1 through 7, glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans, and cartons. All items must be clean, dry, and empty. Recyclables must be placed loose in the cart β no plastic bags. Cardboard boxes must be broken down and placed inside or beside the cart. Not accepted in recycling: plastic bags, styrofoam, food waste, yard debris, electronics, batteries, and hazardous materials. Multi-family properties with 8 or more units must arrange recycling through their contracted waste hauler. Miami-Dade County requires all municipalities to meet recycling rate targets under the state's 75% recycling goal. Contact Public Works at (305) 593-6740 for recycling questions or to request a replacement cart.
Contaminating recycling with non-accepted materials may result in the load being collected as garbage. Failure to participate in the recycling program may result in code enforcement notices. Placing plastic bags in recycling carts is a common contamination issue that can result in rejection of the entire cart load.
