Yorba Linda lets residents store RVs, boats, campers and trailers on single-family lots under Zoning Code Chapter 18.10 standards, but bars storing them on public roadways and using them as living quarters.
Zoning Code Chapter 18.10 (Sec. 18.10.100 special requirements) governs recreational vehicle storage. On single-family property, RVs, motorhomes, boats and trailers may be stored only on a paved surface. In the front yard they are allowed only on a paved driveway and, in the front setback, must sit perpendicular to the street; none may be parked in the street-side yard of a corner lot. A vehicle stored in a side yard must be screened behind a six-foot solid wall or fence with a solid gate, and no stored vehicle may encroach into the public right-of-way, sidewalk or access drive. The City adds that motorhomes, campers and trailers may not be stored on public roadways or used for living or sleeping quarters.
RVs, boats or trailers stored in violation of Chapter 18.10 are code enforcement matters handled by the Community Preservation Division (714-961-7138); vehicles stored on the public street can be cited or towed under Title 10.
