Prohibited Species
Albemarle County does not maintain a standalone noxious-weed list, but its riparian buffer ordinance singles out invasive species for removal. Sec. 4.23.7(K) lets a landowner clear noxious weeds or invasive plants, naming Johnson grass, kudzu and multiflora rose as examples, from a protected stream buffer without the mitigation plan otherwise required for buffer disturbance.
