Pool Permits

Albemarle County requires a building permit before installing a residential in-ground or above-ground swimming pool, hot tub, or spa, priced at a flat $60 fee under County Code § 1-501, plus a $35 electrical permit for pool wiring. The Building Inspection Office in the Department of Community Development reviews and issues the permit outside Charlottesville and the Town of Scottsville.
