Albemarle County allows accessory solar panels and battery storage by right in every zoning district under Sec. 4.22, with no special use permit required, so long as the installation meets the technical standards in Sec. 5.1.66. Ground-mounted panels are capped at 10 feet high at the panel's lowest edge and 20 feet overall.
