Communities including Manchester, Nashua, Merrimack, Hudson, Litchfield, Lyndeborough, Milford, and Mont Vernon participate in the FEMA National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Development in any FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area mapped on the Hillsborough County DFIRM (panel set 33011C) must comply with local floodplain ordinances. Wetland fill or dredge requires a state permit under RSA 482-A.
