   Waukesha, WI

   Waukesha bans selling, exposing for sale, using, keeping, discharging or exploding fireworks citywide, allowing them only for a permitted public display run by the Fire Chief's office under NFPA 1123, with violators facing a forfeiture up to $1,000 and seizure of the fireworks.

   Brentwood, CASnap caps, party poppers, highway flares

   Brentwood bans using, possessing, discharging, selling, storing or making fireworks anywhere in the city under Section 8.48.020, with no exception for so-called safe-and-sane fireworks. The only carve-outs in Section 8.48.030 are snap caps and party poppers, red highway flares, State Fire Marshal-approved industrial or agricultural items under permit, and a city-permitted public display.

   Lakewood, OHMisdemeanor of the first degree

   Lakewood prohibits the discharge of fireworks; under Section 549.10 no person may discharge, ignite, or explode fireworks in the city except a licensed exhibitor conducting an authorized public display.

   Skokie bars anyone from possessing or discharging fireworks anywhere in the Village and from selling or giving fireworks to anyone under 18, but the Village Manager can issue a $10 permit for a public fireworks display or wildlife-control pyrotechnics after Police and Fire Department inspection.

   Midwest City prohibits manufacturing, storing, selling, transporting, exploding or discharging fireworks anywhere in the city, allowing only fire-official-permitted public displays by qualified operators carrying at least $1 million in liability insurance.

   San Rafael bans the manufacture, storage, sale, possession, handling or use of any fireworks, including state-legal 'safe and sane' fireworks, within city limits, absent a Fire Department operational permit.

   Tacoma bans the sale, transportation, discharge, storage, and use of consumer fireworks citywide, every day of the year, with no seasonal exception around July 4th, unless a narrow permit exemption applies.

   All fireworks, including safe and sane fireworks, are banned in the City of Ventura. San Buenaventura Municipal Code Section 10.852.020 bars anyone from selling, offering to sell, using or possessing fireworks or dangerous fireworks in the city, and makes a property owner or tenant liable if they knowingly allow it on their property.

   Chico, California bans all fireworks, including state-licensed 'Safe and Sane' fireworks, within city limits: no manufacture, possession, storage, sale, or use is allowed under Chico Municipal Code § 16R.42.100.

    Renton, WAClass 1 civil infraction, RCW 7.80.120

    Renton bans the knowing possession, sale, and discharge of all fireworks citywide, effective since May 21, 2005. The only lawful fireworks use is a City-authorized public display run under a fire code permit by a licensed pyrotechnic operator; personal fireworks, including on July 4th, are illegal everywhere in the city.
